Oracle Enterprise Linux小记

　　Oracle终于有Linux了, 在本次的Oracle OpenWorld上, oracle宣布为Linux提供企业级的支持. Oracle以redhat enterprise linux为基础, 并加入了自己的linux补丁.

　　Oracle Enterprise Linux目前支持x86和x86_64两种平台, 可以从oracle edelivery下载. 每种平台均有8张光盘, 其中4张为安装光盘, 4张为源代码盘.

　　我下载了x86平台的Oracle Enterprise Linux, 在vmware中进行测试, 感觉OEL和RHEL使用起来非常相似, 唯一感觉不同的地方就是一个到处是Oracle的logo, 一个到处是Redhat的logo.

登录界面, 可以看到Unbreakable Linux的披带盔甲的小企鹅.



桌面, redhat的帽子图标换成oracle自己的圈圈图标了.

　　RedHat在得知这个消息后发出回复, 表明RedHat和Oracle之间的协作不会受到影响. 同时也说:"没有办法保证Oracle所做出的修改后仍能保持API(应用程序编程接口)或ABI(应用程序二进制接口)的兼容性，程序代码可能会出现一些材料／来源上的区别而导致应用不能运行。与红帽企业Linux是否兼容只能由Red Hat的内部测试套件来验证。" 对Oracle实施FUD战术.
