a) make sure C&Q is disabled (this may be optional)
b) install the latest processor driver
c) install the "AMD Dual-Core Optimizer" which keeps the TSC's in sync. Though this util was written primarily for games applications it seems to have a direct impact on VMWare too.

Is this an AMD Dual core machine?
If so, this has worked for me and for others (see http://www.vmware.com/community/thread.jspa?threadID=40354&tstart=120 for confirmation):
a) make sure C&Q is disabled (this may be optional)
b) install the latest processor driver
c) install the "AMD Dual-Core Optimizer" which keeps the TSC's in sync. Though this util was written primarily for games applications it seems to have a direct impact on VMWare too.
b and c are both available from http://www.amd.com/us-en/Processors/TechnicalResources/0,,30_182_871_9706,00.html
After doing that, there is no longer a NUMA message, and the guest clocks do not drift out of sync.
