Notepad++ 基于强大的 Scintilla 文本编辑组件，采用纯 Win32 API 和 STL 以 C++ 编写，这使得它执行效率更高、体积更轻巧。Notepad++ 一直致力于在不降低用户友好性的情况下尽可能多地优化程序。
本次更新包含功能增强和 bug 修复，如修复了重新加载文本后，修复编码（在状态栏上）不同步的问题。具体如下：
