Job description:
Sichuan goldship technology company is looking for a Linux System Administrator. This Linux System Administrator will be responsible for working with 2 other Linux/Solaris System administrators in supporting a mission critical, 24x7x365 High Availability infrastructure consisting of a large RedHat Linux servers such as 350+ Linux servers. The Linux Admin will primarily be responsible for configuring, installing and tuning RedHat Linux servers in a fast paced, complex environment. The Linux admin will be responsible for new Linux server design/build-out/deployments, improve Linux/Solaris server performance and availability, implement new server monitoring and tuning technologies and complex troubleshooting and problem resolution of major server issues and interfacing with Security, Network, Oracle Database and Development Managers. Furthermore, the Linux S/A will be responsible for assisting in day to day System Administration duties on an as needed and on-call basis. The company is running Apache web servers, Application servers, Oracle and MySQL databases, web applications are developed in Perl and Java.

This position reports to the Sr Linux Administrator.

This is also a great opportunity for a mid-level Linux administrator to make the jump into a large scale (350+ Linux servers), high volume (3 million hits/day) Internet environment. Hiring Manager will consider someone coming from a smaller Linux environment with strong Linux skills.

REQUIREMENTS:
MUST HAVE 2+ years of Linux System Administration experience
Experience administering and tuning Linux servers, Linux infrastructure design/build-out/deployments (kickstart), improve Linux server performance and availability, implement new server monitoring and tuning technologies and complex troubleshooting and problem resolution of major server issues. It is recommended to detail your experience leading these types of technical server projects in your resume.
Experience building large High Availability Linux servers from scratch
Experience deploying, monitoring and performance tuning Apace web servers running on Linux (providing information based on logs and system behavior, configuring plug-ins and modules).
Experience deploying RedHat Linux on Compaq hardware
Experience writing Unix shell scripts
Experience writing Perl scripts is a plus
Experience with Load balancing technologies (Alteon, Local Director, BigIP, Netscalar) and switching technologies (Cisco, Extreme)
Experience working with various open source applications (e.g. Apache, DJBDns, Bind, sendmail, qmail, mysql, etc.)
Excellent communication skills
Plus:
BS/MS in CS or related degree
Any Networking, Security and/or DBA experience is a plus.
