运行locate无法找到mlocate.db的解决方法

今天在gentoo上装了locate，然后输入locate rc.conf提示：
# locate rc.conf
locate: can not stat () `/var/lib/mlocate/mlocate.db': No such file or directory

如果出现此错误，请执行：updatedb
# updatedb
#locate rc.conf
/etc/rc.conf
